Fashionable Eats: Pret-a-Portea

For those of us who love the decadence of afternoon tea a must visit is The Berkeley Hotel for their fashion famous Pret-a-Portea. The designer afternoon tea inspired by the current seasons fashions is served daily in The Caramel Room from 1pm to 6pm. It is extremely popular so booking as far in advance as possible is advised.

The new Spring/Summer 2011 collection sees a range of cakes and fancies inspired by the world's finest designers served on Paul Smith fine bone china.

Tom Ford light pink chiffon summer dress biscuit with rose icing and sparkly silver cuffs 
Chloe praline clutch topped with gold chocolate beads 
Victoria Beckham peach coloured sponge cake tote with chocolate crocodile print 
Marc Jacobs raspberry and lychee cream jumpsuit with over-sized chocolate flower belt 
Miu Miu vanilla bikini biscuit with navy icing and signature white bow 
Tory Burch strawberry and rhubarb bavarois dress with flattering gold button detail 
Prada summer dress of papaya, red currant and blueberry mousse, topped with pate de frui 
Jil Sander coloured block dress of crème de menthe and coconut jelly with must-have sparkly sunglasses 
Roger Vivier black and white chocolate striped ‘belle de Nuit’ high-heeled shoe

You can take your Pret-a-Portea with a  range of herbal loose leaf teas and herbal infusions or a glass of Laurent -Perrier Champagne.

Prêt-à-Portea is now available by delivery aboard a Vespa adorned in the famous Pret colours of pistachio green and pale pink. Your delivery comes complete with handbag take away boxes stowed in a much larger bespoke handbag carrier which perches itself on the back of the Vespa. Fashionistas can send fellow fashion fans set boxes of 10 biscuits for £25 including delivery to the SW1 area.

Prices start at £36.50 per person, if you opt for the Champagne Pret-a-Portea expect to pay £46.50 per person.
